Pandemic Preaching - New Year

"That is why we are not discouraged.
Though outwardly we are wearing out, inwardly we are renewed day by day. Our suffering is light and temporary and is producing for us an eternal glory that is greater than anything we can imagine.
We don’t look for things that can be seen but for things that can’t be seen.
Things that can be seen are only temporary. But things that can’t be seen last forever."
- Apostle Paul, 1st century
2nd Letter to the Corinthian Church

The year 2020 may be coming to a close but surely the hiccups, the speed bumps, the trials and the suffering it has brought is still with us.

Welcome 2021

The incoming new year is upon us and a new beginning is what we need to look at and not the disaster and the disappointments of the outgoing year.

We shouldn't be discouraged even though there may be good reasons for us to do so.

Our current condition and suffering are temporary and does not compare to what our Lord is preparing for us for eternity.

The Message Paraphrase says it best: "we’re not giving up.
How could we?
Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without His unfolding grace.
These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us.
There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever."

The believers starting from the first century were taught this, as we are now. And no doubt, they were undergoing the same if not worse than we are.

The Day of the Lord

We are the bride of Christ. Our bridegroom is preparing our eternal home and the wedding banquet feast as He comes back a second time.

Who knows, all these might be upon us really, really soon. 2021 is not the year to lose hope but is the year we hang on tighter to our Lord and His Word.

Happy New Year to one and all.
