New Year's Resolution #3

This is the third in this series, not sure why each new post is getting longer and longer but if you can, take time to read to the end, and to read the first two parts of this series, if you missed it.

So after having touched on the past and the present, let's talk about something concerning the future.

Many of us may think that life is good or that there is a whole lot of good in people. But the reality is that life is not always good, no far from it, and people by nature are anything but good.

And yes, even if we try hard enough, we cannot be Mother Teresa or at least our concept of her. And we are not even talking about our private lives, or that part of us that no one other than ourselves know about.

People who believe in a Higher-Power or a Creator-God will agree that everything is governed by a Supreme-Being and people, being created beings themselves are not all-knowing and are governed themselves and apart from this Creator, people cannot really be what they were designed or created to be.

Of course, people can be or do what they do best, rebel, be entitled, pompous, self-made and be independent, break the rules if not the mold and do what they want to do and be what they want to be, and be left alone to do so.

Well we can, and people throughout recorded history have done so and will continue to do so. Yes, until one thoroughly believes and understands that created beings are subject to their Creator and were designed for a reason and a purpose.

Most people have or are going through life, living in the flesh or living satisying whatever their flesh desires. As we said, by nature we aren't good and as such our desires aren't good, or at least not good for us and for others. We lie, we envy, we cheat, we gossip, we tear down, we slouth, we over indulge and we do other and far more hurtful things, each time satisfying one thing our flesh desires, or worst we do so just for the heck of it.

Now, once one understands all these and believes that they were not made like that or intended to live as such, one can go on to seek that which was missing and can truly offer them what they were really looking for all their lives -- real joy, real peace, real comfort, real fulfillment and real purpose. And that, is coming back to the Source of their being, living not in the flesh but rather walking with Him who made them and using not their own strength and understanding, but that of who created them to be.

Until one can realize, truly understand and accept these, then it is status quo, of course until everything goes south, and they will, eventually, as all things do -- sooner if not, later.

The Creator, recalls His creations back to Him -- like undelivered mail are returned to sender or defective or wrong orders are sent back for a refund or a replacement or as they say earth to earth, ashes to ashes, and dust to dust, so too we will all return.

"For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it." Romans 7:18-20
