God Loves Math

"... and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, and Mary was the mother of Jesus who is called the Messiah.

Thus there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Messiah."
Matthew 1:16-17

The God of the universe does not only have a great sense of humor, but He is also good in math. Actually, He invented it along with all sciences.

Now going back to math, God's math is always about addition and multiplication. The only time that He divides is mentioned in Luke 12.

"From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”

And also when it was mentioned in the bible that in the end of days, the wheat will be divided from the weeds.

But other than these, God's math is always about multiplication such as the story of the boy who shared his 5 loaves of bread and 2 small fish, which was "multiplied" to feed 5,000 people, with 12 baskets leftover.

And addition, as in written in Acts 2, where the Lord "added" to their number daily those who were being saved.

Thus if anyone is subtracting from God's flock, that person is not really of God.

This holy day season, as we commemorate the birth of the baby math genius, we also count down the 12 days of Christmas and some even sing about it.

And we multiply the joy, by giving and receiving gifts and God's love.

Merry Christmas to one and all, and to all a good day and night 24/7.
