Organized Religion

'The Lord says, “These people worship me with their mouths and honor me with their lips. But their hearts are far from me, and their worship of me is based on rules made by humans.' Isaiah 23:13 GW

A very common reason given by people who are hesitant or skeptical about believing or even surrendering their life to God is that they hate organized religion.

It is a good reason, but nonethe less an excuse. Because the determined will find a reason to do something, while the undecided will find excuses why not to.

But do not get me wrong, in many cases this is a valid excuse.

Jesus did not really start a religion. And He did not create organized religion. But He did leave behind an organization (a group of people) and a helper and counselor -- the Holy Spirit.

He taught that group of people what to do. He also instructed them that when He leaves, the Holy Spirit will come and He will teach them from where He left off, and they did obey as best they can, almost all to the point of being martyred for doing so. Before the first believer passed on, they wrote books and letters and spoke to others about all this, which have survived until our time.

When it's time, you will know when you have exhausted your own supply of personal and copied reasons and excuses. And then you could also be a true and real believer who follows Christ, and not just mere manmade religious rules.

Now this is the season to see for yourself if all this none sense is really worth looking into. Start to read the Book of Matthew. And see where it all this started, with the prophecies and the birth of the baby to be known of Jesus of Nazareth (the Messiah), which we celebrate this time of the year -- the holy day season.

Try to give it a chance and if this is really from God, there is no way you or anyone else can stop it. If it is not, then you really have no need to worry about it.

"Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God." Mark 7:7 NLT
