Pandemic Preaching -- To Those Of Us Who Are Brokenhearted

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed."

Psalm 34:18

In other words, the Lord is there to rescue all who are discouraged and all who have given up hope.

King David uttered this word, "brokenhearted" to describe perfectedly what he was going through.

Literally he was telling His Creator that his heart was broken and that his spirit was crushed because of what he was going through at that time.

He didn't have to tell His Maker that, for He would have already knew that. In fact God knows the limit of what David could endure. It was David, who didn't know that he could go through what he was going through without actually going through it.

Desperate Time

In this time, the Lord has allowed most, if not all of us to go through something that is breaking our hearts and crushing our spirits.

It is not because He is testing us or punishing us. But He does want us to be like David who in his trying times have gone direct to the throne of heaven, to the very heart of God.

We can to, in fact Our heavenly Father has been patiently waiting all this time.

Remember this poem that Daivd wrote and sang out to the Lord is on point, God is near and we just need to reach out and touch His heart, like David always does, in both the best of times and most especially in the worst of times.
