A New Heaven and a New Earth
"I saw a new heaven and a new earth, because the first heaven and earth had disappeared, and the sea was gone. Then I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, dressed like a bride ready for her husband. I heard a loud voice from the throne say, “God lives with humans! God will make his home with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There won’t be any more death. There won’t be any grief, crying, or pain, because the first things have disappeared.”
The one sitting on the throne said, “I am making everything new.” He said, “Write this: ‘These words are faithful and true.’” Revelation 21:1-5
Prophecy
There will come a time when the former things will all pass away.
There will be no more death.
There will be no more pain.
And there will be no more crying.
No More
From that day on, the old earth will be no more. Everything will be gone. And everything will be new.
And God will live with His people.
Humankind have not believed in a god but have always wanted to be one.
Since the time of the Tower of Babel people wanted to reach the heavens, make a name for themselves or act like gods.
We as a race have through the ages experimented with creating life, controlling the environment, going to outer space and doing everything to be like gods.
Obsolete
We are now at the point were human and human-made intelligence have made the idea of God obsolete.
More and more people have been living their lives with the belief that there is no God and that they can do as they please. They can create life. They could create super humans who will have no defects and no sicknesses. They have built machines that could do that and anything else for them. They have experimented with both animal and human genome, and nothing is sacred anymore, nothing off limits.
We Never Learn
Soon enough, humankind will find out how human civilization will be like when they fully take God out of the picture. Humankind went through this back when but no one seems to be studying or even learning from human history or humankind's past.
Anyway with God's mercy, He will step in and again save humans from themselves, like in the Tower of Babel and the days of Noah.
There will be a new earth, former things will be gone, but not because of humankind acting like gods but because of it, the real God will do it for them.
Isaiah 42:9
"Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them.”
Isaiah 65:17
“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth,
and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind."
2 Corinthians 5:17
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."
