59th U.S. Presidential Inauguration

Today, being the inauguration of a new president, we pray that the United States is moving on and we want to join the nation in it's call for healing.

President Joe Biden previously quoted the first few verses of the third chapter of the Book of Ecclesiastes. This book is generally attributed to the wise king and leader of Ancient Israel, Solomon (circa 300 BC).

It is appropriate that we read through the same verses today, as the new Vice President and new President will take their oaths of office as they assume the highest position in the land. So help them God.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

For everything there is a season, a right time for every intention under heaven —

a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to throw stones and a time to gather stones, a time to embrace and a time to refrain,

a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to discard,

a time to tear and a time to sew, a time to keep silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

For all those who believe in God, we enjoin them to pray for our nation.
