Feeding the Lambs - Speaking in Tongues 4

"They all realized they were in a place of holy mystery, that God was at work among them. They were quietly worshipful—and then noisily grateful, calling out among themselves, “God is back, looking to the needs of his people!” The news of Jesus spread all through the country."

Written by Luke, 1st century

Luke 7:16-17

[44th message of the New Believer Series]

Needless to say that this is the fourth message, if you've not yet gone through all the previous messages then you've missed the important aspects of this series.  (Speaking in Tongues Part 1)

Speaking in Tongues Epilogue

Granted that you did, then you should be able to speak in tongues as the Spirit enables and leads you to do so.

Although like a newborn child, initially your new language will be like that of a child -- speaking in syllables... A A A A...  Ba Ba Ba Ba...  Ci Ci Ci Ci...

1 Corinthians 14:14

"For if I pray in tongues, my spirit is praying, but I don’t understand what I am saying."

Speak as the Holy Spirit gives you the uttterance. Out from within you, the Holy Spirit will flow out and manifest Himself.

1 Corinthians 14:2

"For if you have the ability to speak in tongues, you will be talking only to God, since people won’t be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious."

It Is A Holy Mystery

The Spirit of the Living God has taken up residence inside our inner being, making us temples of God, His church.

Hallelujah. Hosannah in the highest. Praise Yeshua.

[It did not happen for you? Understand that when you speak in tongues, your spirit speaks, but your mind is unfruitful. Please go back to the previous message. Lay hands on your belly, go over that message again and allow the living water to flow out, open your mouth and let your breath out.]

Caveats

In the Book of Acts there were at least a couple of times when Luke narrated that people with bad intentions tried to use the Holy Spirit for their own selfish motives.

Remember we shouldn't do that and we couldn't and shouldn't fake it. And we shouldn't deceive the Spirit of God.

Book of Acts (of the Holy Spirit)

In Acts chapter 8, Simon the Sorcerer who professed to be a believer, tried to buy his way into being baptized by the Holy Spirit. Please don't do that.

If you really do not have the Holy Spirit in you, then He cannot flow out from within you.

We can read his story in Acts 8:9-24.

Another group of people who were practicing sorcery, the sons of Sceva, tried to fake their way and invoking the power of the Holy Spirit. But they surely got more than they bargained for.

We can read that story in Acts 19:11-20.

Yes, do not be like them.

Our Father in heaven freely gives His children the gift of the Holy Spirit, very much like the gift of salvation. It is not a gift that we work for. It is a gift of God, so no one could and should boast that they have received it or was used by God to impart it.

Matthew 7:11

"So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him."

With a reverent and humble heart let us ask our heavenly Father for this gift in the Name of Our Savior Jesus of Nazareth -- click here to go to the previous message.
