Feeding the Sheep - Graduation

"In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."

Matthew 5:16

Formality

So this is the season for it,  graduation ceremonies that is.

Lots of people are getting diplomas for college and graduate degrees, and for finishing high school and elementary around this time of the year.

These people already graduated when all the requirements were met (days or weeks earlier).

Graduation day is merely a formality, where they receive a document, called a diploma.

This is the same thing that happens when a person accepts the word of Jesus as Messiah, the lamb who takes away the sins of the world.

Children of God

"To
all who believed Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God."  John 1:12

To whoever believed Christ, they graduated from death to life, from lost to found, from darkness to light, from prodigal children to co-heirs in the Kingdom of God.

They have received not a paper document but the Spirit of God, along with a citizenship in heaven.

Graduation day is when we move on from our earthly body into our heavenly body -- where there is no more sorrow, no more pain [on our day of death or the day of rapture].

Revelation 21:4

"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,’ and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Graduates

As graduates, the good things that we do gives glory to our Father in heaven. It is not for our own profit (own glory) but it is for the benefit of others. While we are here on earth, let us do what we can. When we move on into eternity, then our work here will be done.

Salt and Light

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house."

Matthew 5:13-15
