Post-Pandemic Preaching - Introduction

"I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, how often I planned to come to you (but have been prevented from visiting until now), in order that I might have a harvest among you, just as I have had among the other Gentiles. I am obligated both to Greeks and non-Greeks, both to the wise and the foolish. That is why I am so eager to preach the gospel also to you who are in Rome."
-Apostle Paul writing to the 1st church in Rome, 1st century
Romans 1:13-15 in the Berean Study Bible Edition

[This is the 1st lesson in this series]

Apostle Paul wrote a letter to the various house churches scattered over Rome in the second half of the 1st century.

What is uncanny is like at this time, the churches back then were meeting in homes, and the believers were looked at as a peculiar people.

Nowadays during this pandemic (or post pandemic slash endemic stage) believers have also been meeting in homes and also doing zoom or other social media meetings and church services from their homes.

Nothing Is By Accident

The church has finally gone full circle, back to basics, back to when or how it all started -- people gathering in homes and reading letters, singing songs, praying, breaking bread and helping one another. And this was how it was supposed to be.

Gospel Is For Everyone

The Apostle Paul wrote that he was to preach the gospel to everyone, to Greeks and the non-Greeks, young and the old, rich and the poor, educated and the uneducated, the receptive and the resistant.

And that is all there is really, we are merely messengers of the Word. We are ambassadors of Christ. We bring the light and the hope to our dark and hopeless or desperate part of the world.

You who are reading this letter, wherever you are in this world can share this message to your family, your neighbors, your friends and then it's up to the Holy Spirit to do the work in them.

2 Corinthians 6:1-2

Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For he says,

“In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.”

Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation."

The world needs Christ today more than ever.
