It's Your Call

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with Me. To the one who overcomes, I will grant the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

Revelations 3:20-22 in the Berean Study Bible Version

[This is the 4th of a mini-series of lessons (within a series)]

It is recommended that you start this reading with the lesson titled "If There's A Will, There's A Plan" and work your way through the list of lessons.

Please do so, before you proceed.

After reading through the first lessons of this short series, we now have a fairly good idea of who the God (as written about) in Christian Scriptures is, His will and His plan for us.

All throughout the Jewish Scriptures God's plan has been foreshadowed in the stories and the prophesies written down hundreds of years before Jesus of Nazareth arrived to usher God's Kingdom on earth, and fulfill God's plan.

God's plan was revealed through Adam.

The same way it was revealed through the stories of Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses and many other Old Testament characters.

They were written in the poems and songs in the Book of Psalms.

The plan was foretold in the spoken and written prophesies of the prophets. John the Baptizer was conceived and born for the purpose of being the last prophet to pave the way for the Way -- the way back to the Father.

Prodigals, Sorjourners

All the stories in the Jewish Scriptures may be just stories to most of us, but they all paint an intricate yet simple painting of the plan of God.

That plan was One Man. He came down and spoke about the Kingdom of God, interestingly enough, He told us about this by telling us stories.

He was the one whose birth, life, death and resurrection was prohesied and foretold for generations until the first people laid eyes on Him, touched Him, heard Him speak, was healed by Him, and when heavenly things became everyday earthly occurences in that time and place.

It Had To Be Written Down

The Christian Scriptures was written to tell of how God revealed Himself in the Person of Jesus of Nazareth, The Christ. Whether you believe or not, does not matter much to anyone else than it does to you. It's your call. This is personal, like it is for both sons in the story of the Prodigal Son.
