Light of the World

"When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12

In the first book of bible, it is written that "God said, "Let there be light," and there was light."

Light is a very common and very important topic in the bible, both in the Old and the New Testament.

One of the more better known quotes from the bible is Jesus saying "I am the Way, the Truth and the Light."

Light, that is what Jesus is.

And this is how John, one of the first and closest followers of Jesus puts it for us:

"This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God."

This is reason why Jesus (the Light of the World) came down to earth for (and born in a manger) -- to give an opportunity for everyone to be true to themselves, to others and to our Father in heaven.

Jesus came down on Christmas day, to show us there is a God, and who God really is. And He showed us the way (back) to God.

He is the light. And that's what it does. When you are ready to step out of the dark, you can finally see all of these plainly.
