40 Days After the Resurrection - Part 9

Jesus and the Beloved Apostle

"Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them. He was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper to ask, “Lord, who is going to betray You?” When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?”

Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain until I return, what is that to you? You follow Me!” Because of this, the rumor spread among the brothers that this disciple would not die. However, Jesus did not say that he would not die, but only, “If I want him to remain until I return, what is that to you?”

This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who has written them down. And we know that his testimony is true.

There are many more things that Jesus did. If all of them were written down, I suppose that not even the world itself would have space for the books that would be written."
John 21:20-25

So we continue with our study of the 40 days following the resurrection.

According to the eye witness account of the Apostle John, we read in the passage above what had happened after Peter got a little annoyed that Jesus had asked him the same question three times.

After Jesus told Peter to follow Him. Peter looking back saw the disciple whom Jesus loved (presumably the Apostle John) also following them.

And He then asked Jesus, what about that guy.

And as we have read, Jesus responded quite uniquely.

Basically He responded for Peter to mind his own business and not that guy.

Now, I would think Jesus will tell the same thing to each one of us.

What is it to us what He intends or what His plan is for others?

What is important is what does He want us to do. And what is His plan for us.
