Lent - 30th Day

Jesus Blesses the Children

"Now people were bringing the little children to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them, and the disciples rebuked those who brought them.

But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and told them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who does not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And He took the children in His arms, placed His hands on them, and blessed them."
Mark 10:13-16

Continuing our Lenten series -- Day 30 of 40. We are now nearing the end of our study of the Book of Mark.

Yesterday we spoke a little bit about marriage (and divorce). Today we are talking about little children. Kind of like the sequel.

Anyway, we also have talked about this matter previously, twice in the Reborn Series. So for those who finished that series, this would be a kind of a review.

Childlike Faith

In the passage above, Jesus wanted to illustrate that every new believer needs to come to Him, with childlike faith.

Now this is not blind faith nor childish faith. No, but rather like a child, a little boy or a little girl, who (by natural instinct) trusts, and (mostly) obeys their father or mother.

Father in Heaven

Jesus taught us that the eternal God (Creator) of the universe is our Father, Abba Father (our Maker).

Now after becoming estranged or separated from Him, and not knowing who we really are, Jesus came to re-establish that Father-son or Father-daughter relationship, and brotherhood and sisterhood with one another through Him, being co-heirs with Him as God's children.

So yes, let us not hinder every children to come to the Father, through the eternal Son -- Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

We will continue this Lenten series and we pray that you will continue to join with us, as we to get to know Christ, spend quiet time with Him, praying and fasting. And let us finish this 40 day journey together. Shalom.
