Lent - 31st Day

The Third Prediction of the Passion

"As they were going up the road to Jerusalem, Jesus was walking ahead of them. The disciples were amazed, but those who followed were afraid. Again Jesus took the Twelve aside and began to tell them what was going to happen to Him: “Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and scribes. They will condemn Him to death and will deliver Him over to the Gentiles, who will mock Him and spit on Him and flog Him and kill Him. And after three days He will rise again.” Mark 10:32-34

We are close to the last week of our 40 Day (about six week) Lenten study, reading through the Book of Mark.

I pray you have been reading along with us on your personal and quiet time with our Father in heaven.

Predictions

In the passage above, it is said that this would have been the third time that Jesus have foretold what was going to happen to Him.

Mostly, those who heard Him talk about future events, did not understand it at the time. They would get to see these predictions come to pass though right before their eyes. And then they would remember that they heard Jesus talk about these future events many times before it happened.

Prophecies

The bible is full of prophecies of future events. Now because it was so long ago, some already happened. Some are happening right now. But still some more are soon to come.

Many of us would be like those people who heard Jesus say those things. We also would not understand, much more believe until we see them happen.

Let us read these prophecies before they all come to pass

Even if we wouldn't be able to understand or believe some of them yet, we would once they do. Like what happened with those who heard these prophecies and saw it fulfilled 2,000 years ago.

Please continue this Lenten series with us, as we continue to get to know Christ, spend quiet time with Him, praying, fasting. And let us finish this 40 day journey together. Shalom.

A walk back in time
