Quiet Time - Worth Remembering Every Morning

"God wants everyone to be saved and to know the whole truth, which is,
There is only one God,
and Christ Jesus
    is the only one
who can bring us
    to God.
Jesus was truly human,
and he gave himself
    to rescue all of us.
God showed us this
    at the right time."

1 Timothy 2:4-6

[This is the 24th message in this series]

There is a song, a modern worship song that sounds like an old hymn and the second verse of this song goes like this...

'Behold the man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders;
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished;
His dying breath has brought me life – I know that it is finished'

The first and third verses of this song complete our redemption story. And it is all about God's love for us, and reminds us of our sins which was the reason why Christ was up on that cross, from the third to the ninth hour that first Good Friday.

-- securing our path to salvation and our access to Our Father in heaven. And all of these things revealed to us at the appointed time for every single one of us.

Today, we keep this story etched on our hearts and we share this good news of salvation everywhere we go, even online and in social media.

Quiet Time

Every morning, it is just right and fitting that we remember this and start our day from that vantage point.

And as the third verse goes...

'I will not boast in anything,
No gifts, no power, no wisdom;
But I will boast in Jesus Christ,
His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer;
But this I know with all my heart
 – His wounds have paid my ransom'

We absolutely have no share in our redemption apart from us being sinners saved by God's grace and mercy.

Let us make it a habit to sing this hymn and others like it everyday, to start our quiet time with Our Savior.

And maybe again as we lay down, before we go to sleep and call it a night.

For me... Eternal life... Paid in full... Signed Jesus of Nazareth
