Prayer - The Holy Spirit Prays For Us

"In certain ways we are weak, but the Spirit is here to help us. For example, when we don’t know what to pray for, the Spirit prays for us in ways that cannot be put into words. All of our thoughts are known to God. He can understand what is in the mind of the Spirit, as the Spirit prays for God’s people."
-Apostle Paul, writing to the 1st church in Rome,1st century
Romans 8:26-27 in the Contemporary English Version

[This is the 3rd message in this series]

If we went over the first two lessons in this teaching, we should be getting used to and a little comfortable with our prayers.

No, we are not saying that we  already know what prayer is, or even what to pray for. On the contrary, there will be a lot of times that we will not even know what to say when we pray.

But know this, the Holy Spirit Himself prays for us!

So far, we have learned:
1. Jesus prayed for us.
2. Jesus taught us how to pray.
3. The Holy Spirit prays for us.

If and when we do not know how or what to say, it doesn’t matter. The Spirit of God will pray in and for us. He will even make our sighs and our groans into a prayer that will be understandable and music to God's ears. God wants us to be true to ourselves and to Him.

The Spirit knows us more than we know ourselves. He is aware of our circumstance, our present condition. In our weakness, we can, and should come before God in prayer.

The Holy Spirit will lift us up and will cry out to Our Father with words that we cannot express.

And Our Father in heaven has our back, we just need to come to Him in our secret place, meeting with Him with no agenda, no pretenses. Memorized or automatic peayers or adding words that we do not even know the meaning to may impress people, but will not cut it, these isn't even praying.

Quiet Time

And as we set aside the first moments of our day to meet with God, and make it our daily habit, we will soon learn that God's yoke is easy and His burden is light. We do not need to pretend to be anybody else, except ourself.

He will carry us through our day. Let us meet with Him in our secret place before we face each day.

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.
