Teaching - New Kind of Teachers

"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart."

Hebrews 4:12 in the English Standard Version

God's Word is useful for teaching and training -- tenderly and lovingly showing us the Truth.

God's Word exposes our rebellion, our pride, our arrogance, our ignorance and our hidden agenda.

God's Word corrects our missteps, lights our path so we can see the Way, this makes us to plan accordingly and to make the right decisions.

The Word of God picks us up when we are down (not kick us while we are at our lowest, guilt-trip us, mock us or force us to quit). This is all so that we can do what God has called us to do and live a life more abundantly. And so we can teach others not merely because of head knowledge but because we personally are living the life that God has called us to.

Teachers of the Law

No, we are not to study the Word of God merely to memorize or quote verbatim or to be used so that we can engage in rhetoric to win a verbal or linguistic contest of eloquence, or appear spiritually superior for our own personal interests.

We already know what mastery of the Scriptures can do apart from God. They become white washed tombs looking fresh and nice in the outside while hiding the rotting and foul smelling piles of dead bodies in the inside. Jesus called out to these kind of religious leaders and teachers 2,000 years ago. Let us not be ignorant of this nor follow on their egotistical power trips, showmanship and quest for worldly fame and riches.

The Word of God exposes our innermost thoughts and desires, and intentions of the heart. It cuts off our love for the temporary elements of this world and connects us to the eternal, spiritual and heavenly aspect of our being. These are unseen yet discerned by our spirit as we walk with the Spirit of God, spend quiet time with Our heavenly Father and as we read the Word of God.

Everything begins and ends with God's Word. [Everything in the heavens and on the earth were created by the Word of God]

Word or world, we have to choose.
