"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Paul wrote to the church of the Thessalonians, a relatively new church, to write them an answer addressing a question they had, how to continue conducting themselves, and also to exhort them to wait for the coming of the Lord by spending their time in the presence of the Holy Spirit. Joy He urged them to keep their joy (which is a fruit of the Spirit), commune with our Father in heaven (with the barrier already taken down by Christ's ultimate sacrifice) and be in an attitude of thanksgiving, at all times.
