What Is A Church? Contrary to what some people think, a church should not refer to a physical building or structure. Rather a church should properly be the assembly of the people within the place some people do call as a church. Cyber Church So in reality, people do not really need a physical place to be in to say that they went to "church".  In fact it is not really logical to say that you went to church when in fact you are the church -- or you are a part of the body of people who make up the church. If you think about it, many different circumstances do prevent certain people from being physically present at a specific place at a specific time.
