Zacchaeus

"Then Jesus entered and walked through Jericho. There was a man there, his name Zacchaeus, the head tax man and quite rich. He wanted desperately to see Jesus, but the crowd was in his way—he was a short man and couldn’t see over the crowd. So he ran on ahead and climbed up in a sycamore tree so he could see Jesus when he came by.

When Jesus got to the tree, he looked up and said, “Zacchaeus, hurry down. Today is my day to be a guest in your home.” Zacchaeus scrambled out of the tree, hardly believing his good luck, delighted to take Jesus home with him. Everyone who saw the incident was indignant and grumped, “What business does he have getting cozy with this crook?”

Zacchaeus just stood there, a little stunned. He stammered apologetically, “Master, I give away half my income to the poor—and if I’m caught cheating, I pay four times the damages.”

Jesus said, “Today is salvation day in this home! Here he is: Zacchaeus, son of Abraham! For the Son of Man came to find and restore the lost.”
Luke 19:1-10

On the last messages we have thanked at least 6 people. With this new message we we will be thanking and appreciating another person.

Rich People

Many people think it would be impossible for a rich man to go to heaven.

Possibly because the Gospel writers wrote that Jesus said "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."

But the passage above showed that Jesus came and found Zacchaeus (a rich man) and saved Him.

Zacchaeus

Thus because of this man, we know that it is not impossible for a rich man to be saved. It isn't really hard to, but it just might not be too easy as well.

Desperate

In the passage it says that Zacchaeus was desperate to see Jesus. He had to climb up a tree just to be able to see him.

When he got to see Jesus, and Jesus actually spoke with him, he repented of his wrong doings and he made a promise to do restitution.

Salvation

And salvation came to his home. Rich man Zacchaeus, became a changed man -- once was lost, now found. Thank you Lord Jesus.

Zach

And thank you Zach for showing us that it is not impossible for one's wealth to keep him from God's Kingdom. Earthly treasures -- where moths eat them, rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal, do not hold anything over true riches and eternal treasures. Now if we too were given a choice, hopefully our choice between the two will be obvious.
