Feeding the Sheep - Living the New Life 11

"Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father."
-Apostle Paul, 1st century
Colossians 3:16b-17

[This is the 26th message of this series]

This lesson is intended for mature believers (or adulting believers). For a more orderly study, please go through all the previous messages first, if you haven't yet.

New Nature

This is the 11th part of this series, within a series.

To continue, we were talking about how Apostle Paul is telling the first church in Colassae what "to do",  in place of things they started to quit doing.

Teach

All this time we have been sharing Scripture messages to teach and counsel people all over the world. As a believer, we are all instructed to teach others (God's wisdom).

This pandemic, shutdowns and quarantines have resulted in a global reset that made the world we live in totally different.

Even the way we do "church" was drastically changed. What is amazing is that we can now all come together as One Body of Christ at the same time, where ever we are on the earth.

Jesus said

"
go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Prior to this He also told His followers that:

"Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."

And we are nearing that point. Because of the global reset, the gospel is now being preached to the whole world online, through social media and via all the latest technologies.

Sing

The gospel is also reaching far more than it ever has through smart phones, tablets, apps, youtube and live streaming and because different kinds of genre and different cultures are singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.

The world is singing about God and His great love. Now, many traditional Christians are up in arms with this development, but one can vaguely see that a religious spirit has crept in, a spirit often associated with those religious leaders and teachers of the law that made them cast down, castigate and complain about Jesus Himself.

Jesus once told His disciples this:

“Do not stop him, for whoever is not against you is for you.”

when His disciples told Jesus that they stopped someone who was outside their small group who was doing ministry in the Name of Jesus.

It looked like the Pharisee spirit even sneaked in among them and was egging them on that they should stop anyone else not among them, not at their level or not doing exactly as they are doing.

God of All

We are called to follow Christ. And the heart of Christ is to reach all the lost sheep, all over the world.

Every person on earth is not the same, every culture is different, every generation is different. But Christ Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.

People will sing songs and praise God differently and new technology have showed us this. People all over the world, of different tongues and different age groups are coming to Christ and singing of His gospel.

So Christ's commision is being fulfilled in our day and time. Let us not be like the religious leaders in Jesus' time who failed to see that.

Jesus is coming back soon and He is using anything and anyone to reach everyone, and that time is now.

Do Everything

In the same way, the enemy is doing its work to bring disunity, doubt and division.

Every believer is reminded that they are representatives (ambassadors) of Christ, citizens of heaven, co-heirs to the Kingdom of heaven. And as such, whatever we say and do are reflective of that. If it doesn't bring glory to God Our Father, and bring people to Christ then we may have to check our hearts, if it is really in tune with the heart of Christ.
