It was one of the seven churches mentioned in the last book of the New Testament bible (as revealed to and written by the Apostle John). In this excerpt above, the Apostle John is writing what the Lord is telling the believers in the first church in Philadelphia (like Laodicea -- from the preceding message, this was a church back in the 1st century, in a city now located in modern day Turkey).
