The Accuser (Night and Day)

" And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ. For the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down— he who accuses them day and night before our God. They have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. And they did not love their lives so as to shy away from death. Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea; with great fury the devil has come down to you, knowing he has only a short time.”   Revelations 12:10-12 Lies, Lies, Lies Yeah God's enemy He called the father of lies. We know it as the adversary, the thief, devil, satan, the serpent and countless other names. Before it, there were no lies. The very first lie came out of its mouth. This was when it told Adam and Eve they won't 'die' if they eat the fruit of the tree they were told not to eat from. Sow

Lust, Pride, Lies

"Don’t love the world’s ways. Don’t love the world’s goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. Practically everything that goes on in the world—wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important—has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from him. These two are of the world, who of course is under the spell of the enemy. In fact these two things, lust and pride describe Satan. Add a third trait and it completes the enemy's resume -- lies. The prophet Isaiah wrote this about this fallen angel: "You said in your heart, "I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights

The Enemy's Gameplan

Image
"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." 1 Peter 5:8 Life is hard. How many times have we heard people say this. We probably said it ourselves. But guess what, it wasn't meant to be. It's just in this broken world we live it, everything needs mending. The Good News is that there was Someone who came down from heaven, fixed us and died for us to have life and to have it abundantly. Each sport has plays and a game plan, but life is not a game. Contrast this with the enemy's game plan -- prowling around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. John the Beloved Disciple wrote, "the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy". You know what's funny though. The devourer (or the roaring lion) shouldn't really be able to catch anyone off guard. Why? Because it prowls around "roaring" -- not really a sound strategy. I mean wise people (inclu
